ITV has confirmed a significant overhaul of its long-running singing competition, The Voice UK, announcing that Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon will take over as the show’s new hosts. The pair will step into the roles previously held by Emma Willis, who has served as the presenter since 2014. Willis is departing the program to lead Strictly Come Dancing, where she will begin her tenure on 19 September alongside comedian Josh Widdicombe and dancer Johannes Radebe, replacing long-time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The network also confirmed that the coaching panel is undergoing a transformation, with singer Cheryl and rapper Aitch joining the show to occupy the iconic giant red chairs. They will work alongside returning coaches Kelly Rowland and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am, the latter of whom has been a fixture of the series since its 2012 debut. These changes are set to take effect for the upcoming series, which commenced filming this Friday. Viewers will still see Willis on screen for the remainder of the current season, as those episodes were recorded throughout 2025.
The announcement follows controversy regarding the departure of Sir Tom Jones, who revealed earlier this week that he had been removed from the series despite his desire to remain. The 86-year-old stated he was offered a “much-reduced role” due to what he described as financial difficulties involving insurance. Expressing his frustration, Sir Tom noted that he was “not thrilled” by the offer, adding, “The only thing I know right now is that there’s never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who’s still pretty good at his job.”

He has brought joy to audiences, and to every singer who performed for him and with him.” The network also confirmed that McFly members Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who previously shared a coaching chair, will not be returning to the program.

Throughout its history, the show has featured a rotating cast of high-profile coaches, including Olly Murs, Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora, Anne-Marie, and LeAnn Rimes.
Alesha Dixon brings extensive experience to the role, having risen to fame with the group Mis-Teeq before serving as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and Strictly Come Dancing, as well as hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. Stacey Solomon, who gained prominence as an X Factor finalist in 2009, is well-known for her work on Sort Your Life Out and her reality appearances. Meanwhile, Cheryl’s background includes her tenure with Girls Aloud and her time as a judge on The X Factor, while Aitch is a prominent Manchester-born rapper known for hits such as Rain and Baby.
